Keep up with my crazy life, laugh with, and sometimes at, me. As an added bonus, you can see the animated version as well. Enjoy!!

Love can build a bridge....
but only blood, sweat and tears can build a damn fence.
As most of you probably remember from a previous post, we had quite a storm a couple weeks ago in which we lost about a third of our back fence. When I finished the posting I was waiting on estimates from two separate crews to see about replacing the fencing all together. I am not sure, but I can only imagine that after a big storm rolls through, doing damage to fences all over town, that magically their prices increase because you don't really have any other choice but to pay it. The two quotes I got were for $2600 and $3300. I will give you a moment to process the amount of non lubricated screwing that I felt was going on here. Not only were these amounts well above budgetary constraints, they were also, in my opinion, highway robbery.

We couldn't have said it any better!!
OK so as many of you know, my b/f Richard, is a talented artist (I say a genius), and here is the proof. We had this conversation today, and he took it and created this comedic masterpiece. I hope to bring you more of as we create them. Well as he creates them, I just say funny things, he breathes the life into it!!
First off, here is the picture that started it all. And then this is how it all went down. Hopefully you can determine which of us is which. For those of you reading who may not know us personally, I am the silver fox. I hate that term but at least it sounds better than "the old looking one".
Keep your eyes peeled because we hope to bring you more of these. We quite often have conversations that would translate well into this animated world. ENJOY!! And comment!

Race Ya!!
So to finish off our weekend, on Sunday we did the 19th Annual Tarrant County AIDS Walk, benefiting the AIDS Outreach Center in Fort Worth. Thanks to the generous donations of our friends and family, we raised over $500 for the cause. So a big thank you to those of you who donated.

Saturday Wrapup!!
As my B-Day celebration extravaganza began to wind down, I still kept going full force to be able to bring you wonderful stories and oh how the remainder of the weekend didn't let us down. So hold on tight and grab your funny bones because you will need them.
Saturday started off with a trip to the Dallas Farmers Market which is fun to do, but unless you happen to live in the area, the prices aren't really worth the extra expense of driving there. Now we were going to be in the area anyways so we brought our ice chest and went to town.It can be tricky navigating the tiny aisles crammed with people and you have to be strong enough to not get sucked into the hard sell. Everyone is shoving free samples in your face and it is probably a great way to get a light lunch in for the day. In my experience, from stall to stall things don't really look or taste that different but listening to people, it's like they know some big secret about who has the freshest melon or berry or tomato. Everything is usually pretty well marked with prices but you have to be careful to not let your eyes fool you. The vendors place items in baskets and they look like they are just overflowing with fresh items and then when you buy one you realize they have stuff packed in the bottom of the basket so you end up with about 1/3 less than you might have expected. All in all, you cant beat it for freshness but unless you are within walking distance, your local grocer is probably the best bet.

Birthday Week Part 2 (Friday)
I promise this time there will be no sad turn to the posting, so no need for kleenex this time around. After celebrating the actual birthday, I have embraced my friend Angie's idea that you should celebrate the whole week (thanks love). So without further ado, here begins my weekend of fun.
Lets just fast forward through my workday part, because nobody wants to hear about that madness. Cut to 5:30 and the closing bell for the workday. We were going to meet some of the Mardi Gras crew at Bryan Street Tavern for pizza wings and beer at 7 so we had a little time to kill so we went to JR's and had a few beers on the patio to kill some time and enjoy the scenery.
