Sedariously, is this bitch for real??

Hey everyone!! Our latest adventure started oddly enough with a disappointment. I received an email about Amy Sedaris, you know Amy from Strangers With Candy, coming to the Kessler Theater in Oak Cliff and I immediately tried to get tickets. Sadly I received the email the day before the show and the tickets were totally sold out. Richard and I went out for a drink after work that night and I told him about Amy coming and how it was sold out. A minor disappointment but another cocktail would easily wash the memory away. Richard went to get our next drink and I was scrolling through my Facebook wall and I see that our friend Todd has 2 tickets he is trying to sell to the very show we were just trying to forget about not being able to see. A couple of quick reply posts and texts and a few good karma points later, we have tickets to the show.

After work the next day we head to Bolsa for dinner and a couple beers before the show. I opted for the quail and Richard got the burger. Both choices were delicious. You can find out more about Bolsa in a previous post here. After our amazing dinner we headed down the road to the Kessler. The theater was opened in 1942 and was owned at one point by Gene Autry. It was hit hard by a tornado in the 50's and has been quite a few different things in it's life and closed in 1978 while it was a retail shop. Fnally reopening in 2009 as a multi-use facility. They have art shows, music and dance performances and what a great venue it is. I will get back on track now that the brief history lesson is over.

Just wanted to take a moment and say THANK YOU to all my readers around the world. This blog just hit 2000 views! That may only be a drop in the bucket to some huge blogs out there, but to me it is an amazing feat that would not be possible without all of you. Thank you again to everyone for staying in touch or just being a little voyeuristic. I appreciate you all. If I knew all of your names I would thank you individually but that isn't how this thing works so I will just say thanks to all my readers in the USA, Russia, UK, Germany, India, Canada, The Philippines, Bangledesh, Latvia, Australia, Costa Rica, Finland, Greece and the Netherlands. This blog is reaching far wider than I would have guessed and hopefully with all of your help, it can go further. So don't forget to "share" "like" "tweet" "+1" etc and maybe we can circle the globe!!!!

Thanks for getting us over 2000 views!!

Friday the 13th!

Hello again everyone and welcome to a quick recap of Friday the 13th and the madness that occurred. You will also get a peek of the end results!! When someone says Friday the 13th I am sure you either think of the horror movies or some sort of bad luck connection. We opted to think like lots of other people and thought, TATTOOS!! Elm Street Tattoos in Deep Ellum has a great event every Friday the 13th where they do $13 tattoos, you kick in a $7 tip and for a mere $20 you can walk out with a tattoo. They have an entire board of options and they all have "13" associated with them in some way. Now I am sure some of you are cringing at just the thought of tattoos and more of you are creeped out by getting a 13 on you, but we were pumped about it, so we went. Ridiculously Photogenic Guy

OK so I am sure you have all heard and seen the pic of the ridiculously photogenic guy that is viral all over the internet. If not, here is a quick breakdown. He was running a 10k and had his picture taken along the way. For those who haven't done a walk or a run before, they usually station photographers at the start and finish line to snap pictures of the runners so you can buy them after the race. I have included the image of the runner to the right of this text for all to see.  When I first heard this story, but before I had seen the image, I mildly fantasized that perhaps I would follow the link and magically I would see my pic. Disappointment set in quickly as I saw this wonderfully perky runner looking smashing during his 10k. I thought to myself, I have done plenty of runs and had plenty of pics taken, so why is this not a story about me???  After a little thinking, I figured it out.
