A virgin bridge and a gay bull? Believe it, or not.

Hey everyone, it is time once again for a trip down our memory lane. We have had a few busy weekends but we got to do some fun stuff and we got a super brief visit from one of our OKC peeps. Much love to ya Carlye!!

The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge
Dallas got a pretty sweet looking bridge built recently, and as part of the big celebration they had, the Trinity River Levee Run was rerouted to allow the runners to run across the bridge. It was pretty exciting to run across and to know that (at least for now) we were told that nobody else would be allowed to run across it. It feels nice to be a part of a little history. The other exciting part about this run is that this was our first 10k (6.2 miles). We had done plenty of 5k runs so this was a nice jump up for us. We had done a 10k a few days before the race on our normal run thru the neighborhood to get a feel for timing and how we would feel afterwards. Our "test run" time was 1 hour and 17 minutes and our official race time was 1 hour and 3 minutes so we felt GREAT about that time. Running has become such a great part of our lives and it is a great way to socialize as well. Most of our new friends are runners, by luck, not design, so it is great to get to see everyone at these events and hang out at the wonderful beer gardens that are usually present post race. Up next on the racing scene will be the Dash Down Greenville. A nice St. Patrick's Day run with what I understand to be just a little alcohol involved. Can't wait! It seems impossible, but April 1st is the AIDS walk/run and that will mark 1 year of what I like to call "professional running".
